Claire & Chase

Photographing another photographer and her love is both an incredibly nerve-wracking and fun experience you guys. The self- expectations just automatically seem to blow through the roof, and I find myself really doubting myself and my ability to create art for other artists. But Claire was so sweet and down to earth that this session ended up being a BREEZE. Figuratively and literally. This particular spot is known for its drop dead gorgeous sunrises and sunsets that bounce off the rocky cliffs surrounding Lake Grapevine (which by the way, are incredibly rare in our neck of the woods here in North Texas). But we had just gotten past weeks and weeks of downpours and torrential flowing throughout the area. Instead of cliffs and sun soaked rocky beaches, we were met with an overflowing lake reaching the road’s edge. We thought we might have to reschedule, but decided to push through it and boy, I am so glad we did. This session turned out gorgeous, with beautiful moody, muted colors and creamy tones that made me swoon. The wind may have been chilly and harsh, but it sure did make Claire’s hair look like magic. And having her cuddly boyfriend (now fiance!) with her to keep her warm made everything perfect. Turn on some dreamy music and keep scrolling to check out my favorite highlights from this session!
